Sabiñánigo is the main city in the Alto Gállego region, in the province of Huesca, a part of the Autonomous region of Aragon. The city is located at an altitude of 780 m and is 53 km north from the capital city of Huesca.
The northern part of the city is located between the valley of the river Aurin and the basin of the middle course of the river Gállego, whereas the southern part is located between the valleys of rivers Basa and Guarga.
With more than 2,000 years of history, it has today (2007) a population of 9,673 inhabitants.

From Zaragoza, take N-330 to Huesca. The road crosses Monrepós pass (1,262 m).

From Barcelona, the road distance is about 370 km and the way goes through the cities of Lleida and Huesca. From Pamplona, the distance is 160 km and you will pass by the city of Jaca (14 km to Sabiñánigo).
