ARTIBAL participates in the Research Project “Transparent and high barrier biodegradable film and sheet for customized modified atmosphere food packaging”, BIO4MAP, with the objective to develop a high barrier multilayer transparent structure for packaging food products, namely fresh pasta and cheese. The new package will be full compostable in conditions according to the standard UNE-EN 13432 and will imply the use of agricultural waste (leaves, greenery) as a raw material source for wax based coating production.

The consortium has been built up in order to ensure the balance and complementarities among partners, and includes the following: AIMPLAS, HYCAIL, BOBINO, ARTIBAL, VALLES PLASTIC, ALTONI PASTA, MONTESINOS, SACHSEN MILCH, FRAUNHOFER IVV and ABO AKADEMI.
